IMPORTANT:
Please remember to wear short sleeves or a loose fitting top ready for access to the upper arm/shoulder area for injection.
This appointment is for vaccinations ONLY, no other treatment will be available during this appointment.
Please arrive on time to your appointment. Patients arriving late may need to reschedule as the vaccination clinic will be booked to capacity. We ask that patients arrive alone, however, exceptions will be made for those patients requiring assistance.
DO NOT GET THE FLU VACCINE IF YOU ANSWER YES TO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
Have you had ANAPHYLAXIS (serious allergic reaction requiring medical intervention) following a previous dose of the vaccine or any of it's constituents? IF YES PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Are you taking COMBINATION CHECKPOINT INHIBITORS e.g. Ipilimumab plus nivolumab? IF YES, PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR GP BEFORE GETTING YOUR VACCINATION.
Do you currently have a temperature 38°C or higher? IF YES, PLEASE CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT AND RESCHEDULE WHEN YOU ARE WELL.
Do you have a EGG ALLERGY? IF YES, YOU SHOULD SPEAK WITH YOUR GP BEFORE GETTING YOUR VACCINE.
POTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS: Tenderness or swelling at the injection site Fatigue Headache Nausea Muscle or joint pain Fever (Temperature of 38°C or above) Serious side effects are rare.
